Terra Shishido

Terra holds a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College. She is EMDR Certified and IFS level 2 trained.

Before becoming a counselor, Terra was deeply involved in supporting the welfare of military service members and their families, participating in programs such as the Key Spouse program and Military Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), reflecting her dedication to aiding those who serve our nation. With over 17 years as a military spouse, Terra brings a wealth of experience to her practice.

Her professional approach is enriched by her expertise in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapies, coupled with her global travels, enhancing her ability to connect with a diverse range of clients. Her international experiences have not only expanded her worldview but also strengthened her advocacy skills.

In her practice, Terra integrates the empathetic and empowering principles of IFS to nurture each client’s inner strengths. She is committed to helping clients discover and enhance their self-leadership, fostering self-compassion and transformative growth. When she isn't counseling, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing Pokemon Go, Video Games, Board Games, Geocaching, Completing house projects and Traveling. You will often hear her say a line from Alice in Wonderland.
